Abbott Proves Its New Stent Technology As Non-Inferior To Its Own "Xience"

Abbott Laboratories (ABT) announced yesterday, positive results from ABSORB II non-inferiority trials. These trials compared the safety and efficacy of Abbott's "dissolving Absorb heart device" with the company's leading Xience class of drug-eluting stents (DES). ABSORB trials were conducted on 501 patients in Europe, and their results were announced at the 26th Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics symposium yesterday.
